REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Senior Officials Meeting of the Asian-African Conference (AAC) has only agreed to the Declaration for Palestine as one of the three documents discussed, spokesman for the Indonesian Foreign Ministry Arrmanatha Nasir said.

"At the SOM discussion this time, there are two paragraphs in the Bandung Message and three paragraphs in the Declaration of Reinvigorating the NAASP (New Asian-African Strategic Partnership) which still need to be further discussed. However, the Declaration for Palestine has been approved by SOM," Nasir said here on Sunday.

The Declaration for Palestine had been agreed upon earlier than the two other documents because it did not need addition of new issues, he said.

"The Declaration for Palestine has been in existence for long time. The Declaration for Palestine reaffirms Asian-African countries' support for Palestine's effort to gain its independence," he said.

"The issue of Palestine is over. Surely, no country will be apposed to the issue of Palestine. Today no paragraph was added to it (the Declaration for Palestine)," he said.

He said several things related to the Bandung Message and the Declaration of Reinvigorating the NAASP had not been agreed upon at the SOM on Sunday.

"There are two kinds of things we have not agreed upon yet. They are related to revision of sentence and not addition of substance but sharpening of substance. So we will give them a chance to complete them," he said.
