REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The British Government guaranteed the safety and security of Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono when he fulfilled the invitation of British Queen in October, Presidential Spokesman Julian Aldrin Pasha said on Wednesday.

The statement was a response to a report that an activist of The West Papua Advocacy Team (WPAT), Ed Mc Williams, offered a prize worth 80,000 USD for Britons who could arrest SBY during his visit to Britain.

"British Police also ensured that such arrest will not happen," Julian said. The information about the contest has created inconvenience as SBY's visit was only to pay an invitation.

"We have communicated with British Embassy to Jakarta. The matter is inconvenience and needs to be straightened," he said. Both countries, he continued, would communicate to prevent misunderstanding regarding the prize contest.

Julian said government had not taken further step yet. They only assure that the matter does not come from government or official organizations.
