REPUBLIKA.CO.ID,  SLEMAN --  Iceland football national team visits Indonesia to participate in the friendlies against Indonesia’s select XI and Indonesian national football team. The Iceland men’s national football as predicted won the match over Indonesia’s select XI.

Strákarnir okkar, the nickname for the men's national team in Iceland, have just demolished Indonesia’s select XI 6-0 in a friendly pre-World Cup run out at Maguwoharjo Stadium in Yogyakarta on Thursday, January 11.

The Iceland men dominated since the beginning of the match at Maguwoharjo Stadium. Apparently, Albert Gudmundsson and friends are way too strong to Indonesia's select XI. The Iceland men continued to dominate the match as Indonesian side were unable to beat them.

The Iceland men’s national football team will face Indonesian national football team on January 14 at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta. The Iceland national team coach Heimir Hallgrímsson stated that Indonesian national team will be a tough opponent for his squad.

"I think there would be a huge difference to face Indonesian national team in Jakarta (compared to Indonesia’s select XI)," Hallgrimsson said on Thursday.

Hallgrimsson added, Iceland men’s national football never played against Indonesian national team. He admitted that not knowing the strength of the national team of Indonesia.
