REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - National police stated that they have never give recommendation to Hong Kong government related to the deportation experienced by ustaz Abdul Somad.

The deportation was full authority and sovereignty of the Hong Kong government.

Iqbal said, that as a sovereign country, Hong Kong has its own authority. It was similar with Indonesia. As the state, Indonesia has the authority that should not be disturbed by other countries.

"It's similar with our country, when Indonesia encounters certain authorities, other countries should not intervene," said Iqbal.

Iqbal confirmed, the police also didn't have connection whatsoever regarding the deportation of ustaz Abdul Somad. He also added that the Police and the Indonesian government itself has not received any explanation from the Hong Kong government regarding the banning.

"So far there's no (notice). We affirmed that the National's police has nothing to do with the deportation of ustaz Somad. It was entirely the authority of the Hong Kong government," Iqbal reiterated.

On Saturday (December 23), ustaz Abdul Somad was deported by Hong Kong Government Immigration authorities for no apparent reason.
