REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KUPANG -- The price of beef in a number of traditional markets in the city of Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara is back to normal at Rp 90 thousand per kilogram (kg), previously it had increased to Rp 120 thousand per kg due to high demand.

"Normally, the increase of food prices of beef occurred after the Government set the date for Ramadan 1437 Hijri, which falls on Monday (6/6) to indicate the start of 1437 Hijra fasting for  Muslims," said Head of Sales Stalls in the Market Beef Love Naikoten Kota Kupang Erwin Saskia in Kupang on Monday (6/6).

"Traders eventually chose to normalize the price of beef that was previously ranging up to Rp 10 thousand to the extreme of Rp 120 thousand and then to Rp 90 thousand, even going down again to Rp 80 thousand depending on the demand," he said.
