SBY and Westerwelle discuss bilateral relations

Indonesian Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono meets German businessmen during his visit in Berlin on Monday.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BERLIN - Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), met German Foreign Minister, Guido Westerwelle, to talk on bilateral relations at the Hotel Adlon, Berlin, Germany, on Monday.

The focus of the meeting are further development of bilateral relations and new cooperation opportunities. SBY also congratulated Westerwelle for the success of German-Indonesia Business Forum.

Presidential Staff on International Relations, Teuku Faizasyah, said Westerwelle appreciated the forming of the Indonesia-German Advisory Group, a meeting group of prominent figures from both countries. He hopes the group can start contributing to improve cooperation between two countries by giving advises.

SBY was accompanied at the meeting by Minister of Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa and Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Mari Elka Pangestu. During teh day, SBY also met German businessmen.  

SBY is scheduled to attend banquet dinner in Bellevue Palace after opening the world’s biggest travel show, International Tourism Bourse (ITB), with Germany Chancellor Angela Merkel on Tuesday evening.
