REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Extraordinary congress (KLB) ended in Jakarta on Sunday with a number of solutions to solve rivalry between two Indonesian football associations, Indonesian Football Federation (PSSI) and Indonesian Soccer Rescue Committee (KPSI).
The congress dismissed KPSI and picked Djohar Arifin Husin to lead PSSI, and former head of KPSI, La Nyalla Mataliti as its deputy head. The congress members also agreed to unite Indonesian Premier League (LPI) and Indonesian Super League (LSI) then the majority favor ISL.
Both leagues will continue their events until the end of the seasons 2013, then IPL and ISL will be incorporated into LSI in 2014.
A respresentative of FIFA who attend the congress, Coustakis Koustokoumnis welcomed the result of KLB despite the wolk out incident by six members of executive committee of PSSI. But in general he considered the KLB was quite successful.
"I must admit, yes there are some incidents but over all the congress ran well," Koustokoumnis said. "The most important things are the league unification and budget revision that have been agreed by all parties involved."
